About the ReferNet network

The ReferNet network was set up by the European Centre for the Development of Vocational Training Cedefop. Its objective is to collect, exchange and disseminate information on vocational education and training, human resources development and other related issues among the EU member countries.

The Czech Republic has been a ReferNet member since 2004. Two institutions alternate in the role of the National Co-ordinator every two years: the National Training Fund and the National Institute of Technical and Vocational Education.

ReferNet project is cofinanced by the European Community and national budget (Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports).

NVF National Training Fund
was set up in 1994 with the support of the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs and the Phare programme. Its main areas of operation concern the quality and effectiveness of human resources development, the development of lifelong learning, and support for employment and social development in the Czech Republic.

The basic purpose of the National Institute of Technical and Vocational Education (NUOV) is to complexly assist in the development of vocational education and training (VET), especially to a concept and strategy of Vocational education and training (VET) and participate in its implementation.
